Digital Fabrication

-David Oliva

These webpages are other blogs that have digital fabricated projects that are somewhat related to what we are doing in class. Take a look at them if you need some ideas.

This website belonging to the Institude for Advanced Architecture of Catalonia, http://www.iaac.net/web/en/index.php, has numerous projects that are related to what we are doing in class.

http://ssssociety.blogspot.com/2008/02/ready-for-another-lattice.html
contains a script that was used to create the physical model shown on the page. I have yet to test the script to determine if it useful but I will let you know if it does.

Grasshopper and Other

-David Oliva, Derek Lockhart

To recap the presentation on Grasshopper in case something happens to your installation and need to reinstall, this is the website to access information on Grasshopper: http://en.wiki.mcneel.com/default.aspx/McNeel/ExplicitHistoryPluginMainPage.html.
All you need an email address to download the Grasshopper plugin. Just simply run the download to install it.

Another web page to access some tutorials and some more information about Grasshopper is http://grasshopper.rhino3d.com/.

The two websites that Shai mentioned in class are http://www.materialsystems.org/ and http://designreform.net/. On designreform.net located on the right side of the page under categories are the tutorials.

The site that I briefly showed, http://nao.eu.com/index.php/2008/12/20/grasshopper-tutorial-by-nao-parametrise-a-tower/, is the tutorial of the parametric tower. If you happen to go to the home page, http://nao.eu.com/, and take a glance of the stuff that is posted you will find some interesting stuff. Some of the stuff is related to design (like the 24k gold coated Mac) and there is also more Grasshopper related material.
